Meanwhile, They Freeze

I am sent.

I am sent by another.

I am sent by one possessing authority.

He has the authority to send me.

He has the authority to send me to you.

He gave me his message to pass on to you.

Are you getting this?  A message from the Lord – your Lord.

Authority.

But you did not like my “tone.”  So you shunned both me and the message. And…

… and meanwhile, they freeze.

My “tone.”  That was the word you used.  “Tone.”

You did not argue with the message.  You just resisted it.  And you said I was not a good messenger because of my “tone.”

It’s not like you said, “Hey!  Speak up.  We can’t hear you.”  It’s not like you said, “This is too complex to understand.”  It’s not like you said, “Actually, you are wrong; this is not the message from the Lord.”

No.

And it’s not like I had a harsh tone the first time I offered it.  It’s not like my tone was harsh the second or the third.  In fact, my tone was not harsh until after you said…

You said it was my “tone.”

You did not like my “tone.”

So you shunned both me and the message I brought.  And…

meanwhile, they freeze.

So… you make out as if it was because of my “tone” that they freeze.  After all, the insinuation is that if my “tone” had been different, then the message would have been warmly received.

But here’s some TONE for you – HOGWASH!!!!

No.  I’m gonna call your bluff.

The fact is that you did not care if they freeze.  And when I brought my particular message to bear at the particular spot where either you had to heed the message or thwart the message, you tried to burry the fact that you did not care if they freeze in a smoke-screen about my “tone.”

And…

meanwhile, they freeze.

So, the message is thwarted.  The authority is thwarted.  I am shunned.  And…

meanwhile, they freeze.
