  • “They’re just looking for handouts.”

  • “They need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.”

  • “God helps those who help themselves.”

  • “They won’t appreciate it if they don’t earn it themselves.”

  • “They’re just too lazy to work.”

  • “They just don’t want to work.”

  • “They should go back to where they came from.”

  • “They shouldn’t have kids they can’t afford.”

  • “They’re too stupid to know how to take care of themselves.”

  • “They waste taxpayer money on beer and drugs (or cigarettes and bingo).”

Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging.
