A Request For Prayer

Some stories I wish I could tell and am bound to not.  This largely is why even though Fat Beggars is more active in foster care than street ministry these days, I share very little of it.  Foster care is so deeply personal, and the rules prohibit the sharing of personal information.

That said, we have a little drama here in the foster care side that has grown very dark and hopeless.  My heart is so very broke over it.  I am beside myself.

If you are a frequent reader, enthusiast, or supporter of this ministry in any way, I am asking you to remember us in your prayers today.  God, the Father (the ultimate Father) of us all, presumably, knows the details I cannot share with you.  So perhaps if you will join the Holy Spirit in groaning the prayers too deep for words on this one, he might just relent and answer this prayer with his saving grace.

(——– a bunch of censored stuff here that I really wish I could tell so as to expose the authorities to the light of justice and force a change ——–)

But I have said too much already.  That will suffice for a prayer request.

Please, just pray for God to move on behalf of this lost little lamb.

I am sorry for your grief, the pain of your heart. Count me among those who pray.

It might hurt to hear this just now, but I will feed back to you your own advice, which seems apropos as I see it.

Upon learning she would be impregnated by the Holy Spirit to bear the child who would be King and Savior, barely a child herself, the young Mother Mary, blessed be she, responded saying, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord. May it be as you say.” And then after rushing off to share her joy with her cousin, she offers this prayer:

    Luke 1:46-55King James Version (KJV)

46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

    54 He hath helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;

55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

These are the words of The Mother. The words were right then and now. Trust God with your heart just now. He may seem silent – He may be silent. But you can still trust.

And you can trust that I am praying with you.

      Thanx Larry,

      You are right.

And yes, it hurts to have my own words fed back to me. But it helps too. And actually, its not my words (or those of the Bible) that actually cause the pain. It is the injustice I must now entrust to God.

I need your fellowship of prayer today, Thanx for being there…

    BrookeM and Sharon,

Thanx for your prayers. Very hard day trying to process and accept what I cannot change.

I cant believe this is not the weekend story on 20/20 or 48 Hours or Oprah/Dr. Phil or what-have-you. I can’t believe this story passes for justice in our courts. I am sure God’s good will is thoroughly violated. And after all that, oh yeah, my heart is broke too.

Yes, I am praying. Thanx so much for yours too. I will try to process this more and then maybe say something else when I am a bit more soothed.

Just as God brought unexpected and unlikely beauty out of the injustices heaped upon His son, I pray that the restoring love of God will ultimately bring unexpected goodness out of the intolerable situation you are facing. I add my prayers to the many others who are praying for your situation. God strengthen and bless you and the ones you hold dear.
