Stand up for the poor

“I am a Christian, and I try to practice my faith” So says this blogger, and that simple motivation dictates that we “stand up for the poor”. -Amen!

I am a Christian and I try to practice my faith. I am not sure that I always succeed in meeting my own expectations let alone God’s expectations. Sometimes I fall and find it very difficult to stand up again without God’s help.

As a Christian I feel we have a duty to speak out about the situation we find the country in. I feel we have a duty to speak out about the epidemic of homelessness, I feel we have a duty to speak out about all those who live in vulnerable situations. I feel we have a duty to show compassion to those who lives are blighted by destructive addictions, in fact we have a duty to show compassion to the lost and the found. We have a duty to speak out when those who have temporal governance over us get it wrong.
